We’re excited to welcome our talented summer interns to Capitala Group! This year’s class joins us from some of the nation’s top universities, each bringing curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn. Over the summer, they’ll gain hands-on exposure to the world of finance while working closely with our team and gaining real-world experience across multiple facets of our business.
Meet Our Summer Interns:
- Caden Simmons is a rising sophomore at Princeton University where he is majoring in Economics and is a current member of the Track & Field Team. He is originally from Milton, Massachusetts. Caden is also this year's Small Business Investing Scholarship Program Intern.
- Conor Walsh is a rising junior at Harvard University, where he is studying Economics and is a member of the football team. He is from Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Lily Walsh is a rising junior who joins us from the University of Miami, where she is pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance. She is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
- Andrew Lord is a rising sophomore at Princeton University majoring in Economics. He is a local resident from Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Brody Matthias is a rising sophomore at Princeton University, studying Operations Research and Financial Engineering. He comes to us from Atlanta, Georgia.
- August Alala is a rising freshman at Wake Forest University who is exploring career paths within the finance industry. He is from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Capitala’s Summer Intern Program is a hands-on, immersive experience for undergraduate and graduate students exploring careers in finance and investment management. Throughout the summer, interns work alongside seasoned professionals and gain real-world experience in areas such as deal sourcing, financial analysis, portfolio management, and strategic operations. Through active mentorship, team collaboration, and exposure to live transactions, the program is designed to develop future leaders and provide meaningful insight into the day-to-day work at Capitala.
Capitala’s Shadow Intern Program offers a condensed, two-week experience for students seeking an inside look at the finance industry. Shadow interns observe key areas of our business—such as investment strategy, portfolio management, and deal evaluation—through guided exposure to team meetings, mentorship opportunities, and real-time operational insights. This program is ideal for those early in their academic journey who are eager to better understand the professional finance landscape.
